Island New Democrats Stand in Solidarity with Striking PSAC Workers
Charlottetown, PEI – Island New Democrats are standing in solidarity with the striking Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) workers who began their strike Wednesday morning. The NDP PEI recognizes the critical role that these workers play in delivering essential public services to Canadians.
As PSAC and the Federal Government continue to bargain, seeking a fair deal, the Island New Democratic Party is calling on the Trudeau Government to prioritize the needs of workers and their families. These workers have dedicated themselves to serving Canadians and deserve fair compensation, benefits, and working conditions.
“Workers are the backbone of our society, and we must stand with them in their fight for fairness and justice,” said Lori MacKay, President of the Island New Democrats.
“We also recognize the impact that this strike may have on Islanders who rely on these essential services and encourage the parties to reach an agreement as soon as possible.”
