Leah-Jane Hayward District 15 - Brackley-Hunter River

Leah-Jane Hayward was born and raised in Charlottetown. She has lived in North Wiltshire since 11985. She graduated from Holland College as a Social Service Worker.

Leah-Jane was married to Tom Hayward until his death in 2013. She has three children and six grandchildren.Tom and Leah-Jane had a bakery for twenty-nine years. She has worked as a tour guide since 1992 and she owned her own guide company for four years until she sold to a local business. She now works for them.

Leah-Jane has been involved with the NDP since the early 1990s.She ran both Provincially and Federally as a NDP candidate in 2015. In 2017 she became President of NDP PEI and in 2019 she became Deputy Leader. She is a Counsellor on the North Wiltshire CIC. Her volunteer work includes involvement with the Central Queens Soccer Association, St. John Ambulance, Mother's Union at St. John's Anglican Church in Milton and Beta Sigma Phi.

Food security and healthcare are two issues that Leah-Jane will focus on in her campaign.

"There are many Islanders young and old who are missing out on the benefits of living on this Island. Government needs to think about those who are hungry, living in substandard housing and without appropriate medical care. As an NDP PEI MLA I would work to improve the lives of all Islanders."
