Zain Esseghaier of Charlottetown has been selected as the Island New Democrat's Party Coordinator.

Zain graduated in 2007 from the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor in Arts, majoring in Economics and Political Studies.

Zain ran in the 2007 Provincial General Election for the New Democrats in District 11, Charlottetown-Parkdale. He was part of the Yes Coalition for Proportional Representation, helping to organize young people on the U.P.E.I. campus where fifty-nine percent voted in favour of a mixed-member proportional representation.

He hopes to pursue his studies at the Master's level in the field of International Relations.
